How Does It Work

A black supply tube carries water from your outside tap around the system. The supply tube comes in 15, 25, 50 and 100 metre coils which you cut to appropriate lengths and join using straight connectors, 'T' connectors and elbow connectors, to get around corners and other obstacles. It needn't be visible - you can bury this tube up to 5cm underground, or hide it under a mulch or greenery. You should be able to run up to 50 metres in a single run of supply tube or multiple 50 metre runs. In many instances two 50 metre runs can be achieved from a single tap.

If you need to run two or more runs then these can be automated using a multi port timer, this allows for each of the different ruts to be controlled independently. This means that you might want to water your grass for 5 minutes and your greenhouse for 10 minutes. The Claber Duplo is a dual port timer or the Orbit Yard timer is a dual port timer that can be upgraded to support up to 4 ports.

For complete coverage of flowerbeds and borders. Spray covers up to 60 cm's. Jet spike and rigid riser lift micro jet above plants.

The soaker hose is great for runs of approximately 30 metres and can easily be cut to fit in connects directly to the main supply hose. ABOVE GROUND IRRIGATION

The simplest system of them all: water is conveyed through hoses connected to a tap, then distributed directly to the garden by means of nozzles, which spray the water in a concentrated jet or sprinkled like rain, or by sprinklers positioned on the lawn.

There are three types of sprinklers: stationary and rotating sprinklers, simple and compact, to irrigate a set area that can be adjustable as required; and impulse sprinklers, derived from the type used in farming, which have a greater range and are therefore more suited to larger surface areas. Oscillating sprinklers imitate natural rainfall, watering a rectangular area that can be adjusted in size as necessary

DRIP IRRIGATION

Supplying just the right amount of water to each plant, just when and where it's needed - this is the fundamental idea behind drip irrigation. This system, ideal for potted plants, flower beds, vegetable gardens and greenhouses, is quick and simple to set up.
The “heart” of the system is the battery-operated water timer fitted to the tap, that automatically controls watering time. Water is supplied through a collector hose to the feeding hoses, then to adjustable drippers and the micro-sprinklers, which distribute the metered amount of water to plant roots.
The drip system helps you save water while taking the utmost scientific care of your beloved plants, easily and conveniently, even when you're away on holiday.

UNDERGROUND IRRIGATION

Water savings, convenience, added value to your home, the best possible care for your garden, all the advantages of underground irrigation are now within reach for everyone.

The system first of all comprises a multi-line electronic timer that automatically controls 1-16 different irrigation lines.

Water flow to each line is controlled by a dedicated solenoid valve.


Underground Irrigation

Circuit lines, made of polyethylene tubes and compression connectors, are laid underground in a shallow trench, and can follow any route as required.

Water is distributed to the garden by means of fixed-head or adjustable pop-up sprinklers: directly actuated by the force of water, they pop up for watering, then disappear below the lawn surface when the cycle is over.

PLAN YOUR IDEAL SYSTEM

1. CALCULATE YOUR WATER REQUIREMENTS
The first thing to do before choosing an irrigation system is to consider your garden carefully. Small or large? Is the local climate dry or subject to constant rainfall? Is the soil sandy, a type that absorbs water quickly, or does it contain clay, with puddles tending to form? Are you able to look after your plants every day, or are you often away?

2. CHECK THE AVAILABILITY OF WATER
Another important preliminary operation is that of calculating mains water pressure and flow rate. To measure pressure, apply a pressure gauge to the tap; to measure flow, simply use a container with a known capacity, then consult our guide for the procedure to follow.

3. CALCULATE THE AREAS TO BE IRRIGATED
After drawing a scale plan of your garden, use a compass to mark the circles or circle sectors. These circular areas represent the surface watered by each sprinkler, overlapping to cover the entire garden. The trick for optimal irrigation and water savings is to minimise the zones of overlap; position the 90° (quarter circle) sprinklers in the corners, the 180° (semicircle) sprinklers along the perimeter, and the 360° (full circle) sprinklers in the open green spaces. Obviously overall water consumption should not exceed the available flow.
